Silversea Cruises
General
The 'jewel in the crown' of the Royal Caribbean Group, Silversea is the leading luxury and expedition cruise line-acclaimed for both its all-inclusive lifestyle offering and its global destination portfolio. Launched in 1994 as the world’s first all-inclusive, luxury global cruise line, Silversea officially became part of the Royal Caribbean Group in July 2018 when the Group purchased two-thirds of the cruise line’s shares, subsequently acquiring the remaining shares in July 2020.

Silversea provides one of the most inclusive offerings in luxury cruising. Voyages include butler service in every suite category; a choice of restaurants on every ship, as well as in-suite dining around the clock, and premium beverages served throughout the ship; and a true door-to-door service, with private executive transfers and flights included as standard, among other inclusions. Silversea’s guests travel deep into immersive journeys to all seven continents, enjoying a curated selection of immersive experiences in the world’s most remarkable places.

In addition to four luxury expedition ships, Silversea counts eight ocean vessels in its fleet. Among the most comfortable and spacious ships at sea, each of the cruise line’s ships enjoys an atmosphere of elegance, conviviality, and whispered luxury. Silversea has welcomed six ships to its fleet since June 2020 – Silver Origin, Silver Moon, Silver Dawn, Silver Endeavour, Silver Nova and Silver Ray – bringing the fleet’s tally to 12.

Silversea continues to innovate in the luxury and expedition cruise industries. The launch of Silver Moon in October 2020 marked the introduction of Silversea’s groundbreaking S.A.L.T. culinary programme - now also available onboard Silver Dawn, which joined the fleet in November 2021, as well as Silver Nova and Silver Ray, which launched respectively in July 2023 and June 2024. S.A.L.T. enables travellers to dive deep into the world’s richest culinary cultures, taking regional food and drink as lenses through which guests can engage with the soul of a destination. Aboard Silver Dawn, Silver Nova, and Silver Ray, guests enjoy the Otium wellness programme - an indulgent innovation in wellness at sea, which, inspired by the Roman lifestyle, focuses on pampering and pleasure over sacrifice and delayed gratification.

In July 2022, Silversea welcomed Silver Endeavour to its fleet-the world’s most luxurious expedition ship, designed specifically to take travellers to the world’s most remote destinations, including both Polar Regions. Complete with state of the art amenities and the highest space-to-guest ratio in expedition cruising, Silver Endeavour strengthens Silversea’s position as the leading luxury expedition cruise line, broadening the industry’s most diverse polar offering.

Building on the ongoing sustainability efforts of Royal Caribbean Group, Silversea took delivery of Silver Nova in July 2023, and Silver Ray in June 2024, pushing boundaries in sustainable cruise travel with the introduction of pioneering technologies and energy efficiency standards. Both ships incorporate innovative design features with asymmetrical, horizontal layouts.

Silversea’s largest office is in Miami, at the Royal Caribbean Group Headquarters. The brand also maintains offices in Monaco, the United Kingdom, Germany, and Australia.

Destination
Antarctica
Antarctica is the ultimate adventure, where you will witness towering glaciers, snow-covered landscapes, immense icebergs and once-in-a-lifetime wildlife viewing. In the footsteps of explorers such as Amundsen, Shackleton and Scott, you will be one of the few to discover the world's last truly wild frontier. Smaller expedition style cruise ships carry their own fleet of zodiacs and will usually include the highlight of a landing on the white continent. Larger cruise ships will include scenic cruising along the Antarctic peninsula, but will not offer any landings or shore excursions. Antarctica cruises depart from South America during the Southern Hemisphere summer late November to March. There are also occasional Antarctica departures from New Zealand. Sub Antarctic cruises depart from the ports of Auckland, Dunedin & Lyttleton in New Zealand.
Ports of Call
King George Island, Antartica

Antarctic Sound, Antarctica

Known as "Iceberg Alley", you will be amazed by the amazed at the acompanying views. Because this is an icy waterway, it can be difficult to navigate. However, you might be able to visit such locations as Paulet Island, Hope bay or Brown Bluff.

Antarctic Peninsula, Antarctica
City Antarctic Peninsula

Not too many ships make it as far south as Antarctica, so the journey is a highlight by itself. The Antarctic Peninsula juts out from Antarctica towards the eastern side of South America between the 59th and 76th West longitudinal parallels. And since you are on your way do not forget your camera as you are bound to see some amazing creatures on a never more pristine background. For starters you will see gentoo and chinstrap penguins; blue-eyed shags and snowy sheathbills; crabeater seals and minke whales.
